Welcome to NewtonWatch.Org. I’ve set up this site to provide a convenient clearing house for organizing information on issues under discussion in the city.
I came into the process for the controversial Austin Street lot late in the game, and found it difficult to navigate to and retain links to various information sources as well as to organize analysis of them. I along with others also regretted not becoming more engaged in city government earlier in the process.
Since then I’ve tried to pay closer attention to events at City Hall when I can.
I have been following the Charter Commission process and disagree with the commissions decision to eliminate ward councilors from Newton City Government. While I will post on that issue here from time to time, visit http://newtondemocracy.org for more detailed information.
